SIAB 9th Annual Charity Golf Outing

In 2016, The Society of Italian American Businessmen hosted what was to be their first annual Charity Golf Tournament, known then as the Italian Irish Klassix Open Charity Golf Tournament, held at the Maryland Golf and Country Clubs. As a start-up, the first SIAB tournament was a success with only 64 golfers or 16 foursomes. The tournament yielded $11,000 in charitable proceeds, distributed evenly between The Harford Family House and Habitat for Humanity, each receiving $5,500.
Today, the Annual SIAB Golf Tournament, with the support of our sponsors, players, and our partnership with the Maryland Golf and Country Clubs, is recognized as one of the best in the region!
In 2024, which sold out with 132 golfers, we awarded our partners, The Arc NCR, Chesapeake Therapeutic Riding, and There Goes My Hero, a donation of $11,667 each from the proceeds.
SIAB appreciates all of the help from our partners, Chesapeake Therapeutic Riding, The Arc NCR, and There Goes My Hero, for their collaboration and support through volunteering at this year’s golf tournament. Their actions will help make the event a huge success.
CTR’s mission is to “encourage healing and celebrate life with individuals and groups whose minds, bodies and spirits will benefit from the transformative connection between people and horses.” CTR’s certified staff and trained volunteers are dedicated to serving individuals and groups through customized, innovative programming that occurs year-round.
The Arc NCR empowers people with differing abilities (intellectual and developmental disabilities) to create lives that mirror yours and mine: students attending neighborhood schools, adults going to work and living in their own homes, children living in a safe and supportive home, and individuals enjoying the social and recreational opportunities in Harford and Cecil Counties.
Our Mission: Save lives. Provide hope. Help those impacted by blood cancer.
There Goes My Hero was founded by leukemia survivor and bone marrow transplant recipient Erik Sauer. Today, Hero partners with DKMS to add potential lifesavers to the National Bone Marrow Registry; and with the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center and other local providers to provide a support system to blood cancer patients and their families, including transportation services, parking coupons, and housing during treatment.
Maryland Golf & Country Clubs
The Society of Italian American Businessmen is both proud and thankful for the partnership with Maryland Golf and Country Clubs (MGCC). For six years now, MGCC accommodations, staff, and outstanding food have been a staple for the SIAB Annual Golf Tournament.
Located in Bel Air, MD, MGCC is one of the premier golf destinations in the state.
